MRE Building Services has a wealth of experience undertaking major plant replacements across the UK. We have worked with some of the largest cranes in Europe, and managed the closure of major roads in central London.

This has included: cooling towers, chillers, package units, hydraulic systems and packaged plant rooms. Our chiller and cooling tower replacement projects have often involved challenges around space and relocation, and have often taken place in buildings that have remained fully occupied during the process. We have been able to undertake major changeovers with minimum disruption to building occupants.

MRE Environmental A SKA rating helps landlords and tenants assess fit-out projects against a set of good practice sustainability criteria. It is estimated that 11% of UK construction spending is on fit-outs, and that certain buildings may undergo more than 35 fit-outs during their lifespan.

How does it work? The SKA offices scheme consists of more than a hundred ‘good practice’ measures that cover energy and CO2 emissions, waste, water, materials, pollution, wellbeing, and transport.

This guidance is freely available along with an online assessment tool that can be used informally or for formal certification using a RICS SKA ratings accredited assessor. Assessments can be carried out at three stages: Design, Handover and Occupancy. We are accredited and fully qualified to undertake quality assured SKA rating certification on behalf of your organisation.
